Injection molding machine manufacturer Ferromatik Milacron is presenting its CAP-TEC and the CAP-TEC XL, two energy-saving high-performance injection molding machines for packaging applications. The company's CAP-TEC is a dedicated injection molding machine for caps and closures. In developing the CAP-TEC the company engineers removed every element that was not necessary for the production of caps and closures and equipped it with everything required for excellent machine dynamics and economical production. Available in a clamping force size of 3,000 kN, the machine features large mold installation area for multi-cavity molds (64- and 72-cavity) and features a short opening stroke to save on the overall length of the machine and allows for higher operating speeds. The machine features a dry cycle time of one second and electrical screw drive, enabling parallel machine functions, also contributes to the overall speed of the CAP-TEC. The other machine, CAP-TEC XL is a specialized for packaging applications.
The CAP-TEC XL version is ideal for thin-wall containers or cups with in-mold labeling. The machine features a long-stroke machine with a larger mold opening movement and is available in clamping force sizes of 2,000, 3,000 and 4,000 kN. Multi-cavity molds (48- to 96-cavity) can be used with the CAP-TEC XL and the machine also supports the use of stack molds with two parting lines which double the output of a conventional mold.
In addition, both the above dedicated packaging machines are available with the optional GreenLine for enhanced energy efficiency. The energy efficiency drive technology is provided by an energy-efficiency class EFF 1 motor. Secondly, the hydraulic is equipped with an intelligent accumulator management which is filled only as much as required for the current application. The GreenLine package helps to avoid costly energy peaks by preventing parallel functions when they are not strictly required. Finally, the GreenLine package includes a module for monitoring energy consumption, including active and idle power from the MOSAIC control panel.
