Plastindia President unveils the road map ahead for the Foundation

08-Sep-12
Bipin Shah the newly elected president of PlastIndia Foundation unveiled his road map for the next three years will include areas of work like Image of Plastics, Solid Waste Management, Technology up-gradation, Cluster for mega volume production and taking the quality to international level. Following are the excerpts from his acceptance speech: "The continuous task of creating 'Wealth through Education' will take primary seat for another 5 years in which we shall depend on Shri Ashok Goel for his continuous guidance. Knowledgeable and trained people can only compete with the pressures from the bordering area and this commitment by the industry for total unification of efforts will only show results down the road Plastindia has always been a platform for the Indian Plastics industry. The recognition of the exhibition and its placement in the world market has to surpass China and our Goal should be 'Collaborating, Creating and Capitalising'. The distinct possibility of shifting the venue from Delhi to Ahmedabad will be a task of a magnitude of Olympic Games level. With support of the industry, Govt. of Gujarat, ITME and GIFT we shall achieve this goal as a benchmark of showcase by 2015. Let us all pledge that Growth through Innovations, Knowledge, Cluster approach and Image Enhancement becomes our lifeline for the next few years. Under the leadership of my predecessor, Shri Ashok Goel, who is an eminent and a very successful entrepreneur known the world over has put Plastindia on the map of growth oriented projects apart from routine exhibitions. Under his leadership Plastindia has embarked upon plastics in agriculture (Plasticulture) and an independent University dedicated to Plastics and Polymers. He is a firm believer in the professionalization of the institution and total transparency of the administration. To take the reins from his gracious hands for the next three years is going to be a challenging task"
