Prompt HDPE film availability tight in Turkey

In Turkey, an increasing number of distributors are complaining about tight HDPE film supplies for prompt delivery, as they fail to find materials to replenish their stocks, as per ChemOrbis. Most of these distributors commented that sellers prefer to offer their already limited materials to converters first. This situation has caused HDPE film demand to improve and the market to become more active this past week. Intensifying interest for HDPE stands in stark contrast to slow LDPE film demand and normal buying interest for LLDPE c4 film cargoes. A distributor, who is planning to make fresh purchases for LDPE and HDPE film, reported negotiation with their LDPE film suppliers since supply levels are ample and demand is slow for this product. “However, HDPE film prices are firm and some sellers don’t even want to offer any materials to distributors,” he complained. Another distributor is said to be searching the market for prompt HDPE film cargoes while claiming that their supplier raised import HDPE film prices by around US$20/ton recently. The distributor is not satisfied with HDPE film stocks, but added that their LDPE film stocks are sufficient. Another distributor also complained about the lack of prompt HDPE film supplies as most suppliers have informed them that they do not have many materials to offer to the distribution market. Some of these sellers also commented that they would offer their cargoes to converters before selling to distributors, as per ChemOrbis. Another distributor, who is looking for HDPE film for prompt delivery, also reported that they have failed to find any materials as their suppliers told them that they do not have any HDPE stocks to offer. As a result of this situation, the low end of the locally-held HDPE film offer range moved up at with respect to the previous week.
