Largely driven by improved performance in the refining and petrochemicals business, Reliance Industries (RIL) posted a 15.8% rise in the net profit to Rs 5703 crore for quarter ended September 30, 2011 as compared with Rs 4923 crore in the comparable quarter of previous fiscal. Total income of RIL during the quarter increased to Rs 79,671 crore versus Rs 58,151 crore in Q2FY-11.
During the quarter, RIL’s petrochem revenues surged to Rs 21,100 crore from Rs 15,100 crore yoy. Refining revenue of the company was up at Rs Rs 68,100 crore versus Rs 49,700 crore, while its Oil & Gas revenue was down at Rs 3,560 crore versus Rs 4,300 crore, yoy.
