European demand for polyurethane grew by almost 8.5% in 2004. Rigid foam and elastomeric applications drove this increased demand. Steady growth in rigid foam segment can be attributed to growth in the construction industry in Europe, particularly Eastern Europe and increased use in insulation applications.
