Saudi Kayan seeks revised bids from contractors for Jubail low density polyethylene plant

Saudi Kayan Petrochemical Co. has sought revised bids from contractors for the construction of a low density polyethylene plant in Jubail, pushing forward the deadline to receive the revision by December 5. November 25 has been set as a deadline to receive bids for a 210,000 tpa amines plant. The LDPE project was awarded to UK Simon Carves, a unit of Indian Punj Lloyd as a fixed-price services contract while the amines plant was awarded to Samsung Engineering. The complex was due online in 2010 and will have an annual production capacity of 5.6 mln tpa of petrochemical products.
