SIBUR in talks for petrochemical plants in Iran

SIBUR- Russia's largest petrochemical company is in talks with Iran over the construction of petrochemical plants in Iran. The oil and gas resources encourage development of major chemical complexes in Iran. The Russians are considering use of the blocks of the South Pars gas field, where the Russian gas major, Gazprom, currently operates. The South Pars gas field is estimated to hold about 14 trillion cubic meters of gas amounting to about 8% of the total world reserves.
