Spanish compounder and masterbatch producer GCR Group is increasing its “Granic” masterbatch capacity to nearly 300,000 tpa up to 2016 to meet growing demand for sustainable products, in particular from the automotive industry. Starting next year, the company will also produce 15,000 tpa of its “Ciclic” talcum-reinforced compounds from post-industrial PP, with capacity rising to 25,000 tpa from 2017. Altogether, the company’s output capability will rise to 320,000 tpa as of mid-2016, as per www.plasteurope.com.
GCR is also building a new warehouse, scheduled for completion by the end of 2015. This will allow it to supply customers on short notice, especially those outside Spain; around 85% of production is exported. The company is also adding R&D staff to develop new products, provide technical service and reduce the environmental footprint of its products
