Supreme Petrochem expects to commission one of its new expandable polystyrene (EPS) units at Nagothane by 16 April and second unit a month later, as per ICIS. The first unit, which will produce commodity-grade EPS, will start up first, and the specialty-grade unit will go on stream later. Sustained supply from the two units with 25,000 tpa capacity is expected only in July. The units will have a designed capacity to double their size.
The company also operates a 30,000 tpa EPS plant at Chennai and a 272,000 tpa PS plant in Nagothane, which produces high impact PS (HIPS) and general purpose PS (GPPS).
