Taiwan mulls US$3.3 bln investment in petrochemicals in 2012

The Ministry of Economic Affairs is planning 20 investment projects in the petrochemicals industry in 2012 at an investment outlay of about NT$100 bln, (US$3.3 bln) as part of government efforts to upgrade the value of the sector, as per Taipei Times. The office also plans to establish at least three centers for research and development in the petrochemicals field.
