Indplas'25 Inauguration & Invest Bengal Seminar Highlighting Opportunities In Eastern India’s Plastics Industry

Kolkata, February 28, 2025: The 10th edition of the Indian Plastics Federation’s (IPF) triennial flagship exhibition, INDPLAS’25, was inaugurated today at Biswa Bangla Mela Prangan (Milan Mela), Kolkata. This four-day international event, the largest B2B plastics exhibition in Eastern India, brings together global and domestic players from the plastics industry to explore opportunities in this rapidly growing region.

The grand inauguration ceremony was graced by Dr Shashi Panja, Honourable Minister Department of Industries, Commerce & Enterprise & Guest of Honour Smt. Vandana Yadav, IAS, Principal Secretary – Department of Industries, Commerce & Enterprises, along with key industry leaders. The event marks a significant milestone for the plastics sector in Eastern India, reinforcing the theme of “The Future is East”, which underscores the immense potential for growth and investment in the region.

Following the inauguration, the Invest Bengal Seminar was held, focusing on the state's evolving industrial landscape, incentives for investors, and the government’s vision for fostering business growth. Industry experts, policymakers, and key stakeholders shared insights on how West Bengal is becoming a hub for plastics manufacturing, backed by infrastructure development, ease of doing business, and a skilled workforce.

Mr. Ashok Jajodia, Chairman, INDPLAS’25 Exhibition Organising Committee, stated, “INDPLAS’25 is more than just an exhibition—it is a platform for collaboration, innovation, and investment. With the rapid development of the plastics sector in Eastern India, this event will catalyze new business opportunities, partnerships, and technological advancements.”

Mr. Lalit Agarwal, President, Indian Plastics Federation (IPF), highlighted, “West Bengal is at the forefront of industrial transformation. The Invest Bengal Seminar is a key initiative to showcase the state’s investment potential and invite global players to be part of this growth journey.”

With over 400 exhibitors from India and abroad, INDPLAS’25 is expected to attract MORE THAN 1 LAC business visitors, fostering strategic partnerships and driving innovation in the plastics industry. The exhibition features leading machinery manufacturers, raw material suppliers, ancillary service providers, and technology innovators from countries including USA, China, Japan, Taiwan, Iran, Russia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, and Germany.

The event is supported by the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, Government of India, WBIDC, Government of West Bengal, Indian Chamber of Commerce, Plastindia Foundation, and major plastics associations across the country.

As INDPLAS’25 continues until March 3, 2025, industry professionals, entrepreneurs, and investors are encouraged to explore the latest advancements in plastics technology and tap into the growth potential of the Eastern region.
