Day 2 Opening Session – Technology, Sustainability and Brands
The Day 2 Opening Session highlighted three important forces shaping Flexible Packaging. 
Dr. Goutam Das, Founder & Chief Data Scientist, insAnalytics, explored AI and analytics-driven smart manufacturing; 
Stefan Barot, President – Chemicals Division, Balrampur Chini Mills Limited, presented developments in compostable barrier packaging using BOPLA; and 
Kamal Taneja, Managing Director, Huhtamaki India, examined how Flexible Packaging can strengthen brands through performance, convenience and consumer engagement.
 
Sustainability Moves from Commitment to Action
Sustainability and Circularity remained central to the programme, with discussions moving from commitments to practical and commercially viable solutions. Key themes included Circular Economy and EPR, PCR integration, recyclable and mono-material packaging, advanced polyolefins, high-barrier films, mechanical and chemical recycling, food-grade and hygiene recycling applications, closing the loop for Flexible Packaging, and profitable circular business models.
 
A dedicated Brand Owners’ panel, “From Commitment to Action – How Brand Owners are Redefining Sustainable Packaging Solutions,” examined how sustainability goals can be translated into practical packaging solutions through innovation and collaboration.
 
AI Takes Centre Stage – From Data to Decisions
The 13th edition expanded its focus on Artificial Intelligence, GenAI, Industrial AI and AI-enabled manufacturing.
Discussions examined applications across product design, production optimisation, smart factories, connected packaging ecosystems, supply chains, quality, productivity, sustainability and business workflows.
 
The session “AI: Data to Decisions – Analysis and the Forward Path” explored how data can be converted into meaningful business and manufacturing decisions, while AI-driven smart factories can improve productivity and sustainability.

Evening Theme Address by Dr. Milind Sathe
A special highlight of the first evening was the Theme Address by Dr. Milind Sathe, Hon’ble Advocate General of Maharashtra. The session offered delegates a broader perspective beyond the core packaging agenda, exploring the complex relationship between media, public perception and the legal framework, and how these forces increasingly influence business, society and public discourse.
 
Flexible & Rigid Packaging – Synergies Rather Than Competition
The Summit examined the growing convergence of Flexible and Rigid Packaging as Brand Owners increasingly adopt multi-format strategies. Leaders discussed the strengths and challenges of each format, evolving market dynamics, regulatory changes and changing consumer and Brand Owner requirements.
 
The discussion reinforced the view that the future of packaging will depend on selecting the right solution for the right application rather than relying on a single format.
 
New Perspectives – Next Generation, Premiumisation & Alternative Materials
A dedicated panel gave emerging industry leaders a platform to share fresh thinking on the sector’s next chapter. Discussions on premiumisation examined packaging’s growing role in product differentiation, value creation and customer experience.
 
A separate session explored how Paper and Aluminium can complement Plastics, contributing to performance, sustainability and value. The emphasis was on using the strengths of different materials intelligently rather than choosing one material over another.
 
Packaging, Brand Differentiation & Customer Trust
Brand Owners remained central to the programme. Discussions examined packaging’s expanding role in consumer safety, brand differentiation, customer trust, convenience, premiumisation, sustainability and regulatory compliance. Senior Brand Leaders also shared expectations from packaging producers and technology providers, highlighting opportunities created by changing consumer needs.
 
Innovation Driving the Next Packaging Revolution
Technology and innovation were addressed across advanced specialty films, next-generation polymer chemistry, high-barrier packaging, printing and converting technologies, automation and smart manufacturing, Artificial Intelligence, connected packaging ecosystems, recycling technologies, circular packaging and alternative materials.

The combination of a high-level Business Summit and a live Global Exhibition was a defining feature of the platform. The exhibition brought together 121+ Global exhibitors showcasing products, technologies, machinery, materials and next-generation solutions for the Films and Flexible Packaging industry.
 
Grand Gala Industry Entertainment Night
The evening of 26 August featured a Grand Gala Industry Entertainment Night celebrating 13 editions of the Summit. Live dance performances, cocktails and a Grand Networking Dinner provided an opportunity for delegates to unwind, strengthen relationships and celebrate the industry’s journey.
 
Lucky Dip – Excitement Across Both Days
Lucky Dip draws were held on both days, with prizes including the latest iPhones, iPads/tablets, electronic gadgets, smartphones and smartwatches. The Grand Prize – a Hyundai Venue 1.2 Kappa MT HX 4 Petrol – was drawn on the evening of 27 August, providing an exciting finale to the two-day event.
