As many as 20 subsidiaries of Iran's National Petrochemical Company (NPC) have been shortlisted for private ownership, a senior authority with NPC said. Amongst the ones which are wholly privatized include Carbon Iran, Farabi, Abadan, Kharg, Isfahan, Arak, Shiraz, Razi and Polika Karaj. However, the NPC considered more companies to be privatized should the Iran Privatization Organisation (IPO) approve the transfer of other petrochemical companies as a single block or holding companies. In addition, 52 of the 81 subsidiaries of the NPC have been semi-privatized.
