China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), the parent of PetroChina aims to complete the construction of the US$1.2 bln plant in Yinchuan by the end of 2010, it said in an announcement. Recently, PetroChina Ningxia Refining & Chemicals Company launched its groundbreaking ceremony of a 5 mln tpa project in Yinchuan. The project's 10 major facilities include 100,000 bpd crude distillation unit, 2.6 mln tpa catalytic cracker, a 900,000 tpa continuous reformer and 100,000 tpa polypropylene unit.
The 5 mln tpa project of Ningxia Refining & Chemicals Company is a key construction project for CNPC's 11th Five-year Plan. PetroChina Ningxia Refining & Chemicals Company is also expected to complete an expansion of its Dushanzi refinery in Xinjiang to 200,000 bpd by the end of 2008 year to process crude oil from central Asia via the 200,000 bpd China-Kazakhstan crude oil link.
