22-Sep-08
Worldwide manufacturer of chemicals, fibers and plastics, Eastman Chemical will cease the production of Eastman™ PET 5214A - a PET resin used in pharmaceutical industry - in the end of 2008. The decision to exit this PET resin business comes in order to rationalize capacity, restructure assets, and enable growth in its specialty copolyester business. Eastman has already notified the current customers of its decision on July 31, 2008.
