Two Chicago-headquartered companies - Rite Systems and Ricon Colors have been acquired by Clariant. The financials of the deal are unknown but this acquisition will push forth the capability of Clariant's liquid segment of masterbatch products.
The two companies amount to a total of US$50 mln in sales having production facilities in Mooresville, North Carolina; Chino, California, and a European base at Schwechat, Austria. Amongst the acquired companies, Rite Systems will develop two-third liquid masterbatch products while the remaining one-third solid materbatch products will be made by Ricon Color.
