Deal signed for gas-fired cogeneration power plant in Map Ta Phut

Glow Energy Plc. has signed a total of US$302 mln in contracts with a consortium of Marubeni and Black & Veatch for equipment supply and construction of its 382 megawatt gas-fired cogeneration power plant in Map Ta Phut. The project is expected to be online in Q3-2011. The project has completed its environment impact assessment and will sell mainly electricity and steam to large petrochemical customers. Spread over the next three years, Glow will invest over US$1.8 bln to increase production capacity by over 50% from 1,708 megawatts.
