Conference on Fire Resistance in Plastics

03-Sep-07
AMI is pleased to announce the second edition of Fire Resistance in Plastics, to take place from 19-21 November 2007 in Cologne, Germany. This unique business conference and exhibition is for all companies involved in flame retardancy and offers the opportunity to learn about the latest developments that will influence the industry. The first event last year attracted over 150 people and AMI expects the conference to reach an even wider audience this year. AMI has gathered a panel of experts and the programme will provide a complete overview of current flame retardancy technology including halogen vs. non halogen, zinc borates, metal hydroxides, brominated flame retardants and nano-technology for use in plastics materials. There will also be papers looking at testing and standards, the new EC FR-test and the toxicology of fires. The programme is divided in 4 sessions which will cover the latest developments in nanocomposites, Metalhydroxide, Nitrogen & Phosphorus flame retardants and in halogen flame retardants. Companies giving presentations include: Politecnico of Turin, Nanocor, Itri Ltd, Italmatch Chemicals SpA, Abo Akademi University, Sherwin Williams Co, ICL-IP Eurobrom B.V., Kabelwerk Eupen AG and many more. "There is a very strong global trend to more and more applications of flame retardant plastics. Therefore this conference by AMI is an excellent opportunity to get an update of all important aspects from materials to testing" says industry expert Günter Beyer from Kabelwerk Eupen AG.
