Cost of US$22 bln Ras Tanura petrochemical plant could rise

29-Apr-08
The estimated cost of Saudi Aramco and Dow Chemicals' Ras Tanura petrochemical plant of US$22 bln could rise further. Tight equipment and labour supplies continue to propel costs for energy projects globally, causing delays and even cancellations. Aramco will have a revised estimate for the cost of the plant in September next year when the plant's initial design should be completed. The plant is scheduled to begin production in 2012.
