The Performance Polymers Business Unit of Evonik Industries, one of the world's leading suppliers of methacrylate chemicals, will raise the prices of its VISIOMER® Methacrylate Monomers w.e.f. July 01, 2009. In Europe, the prices for VISIOMER® Methyl Methacrylate and VISIOMER® Methacrylic Acid will be increased by EUR 60/mt and EUR 80/mt respectively. For the rest of the world (except NAFTA), VISIOMER® Methyl Methacrylate prices will go up by US$80/mt while VISIOMER® Methacrylic Acid prices will increase by US$110/mt. The company announced that price increase is a result of higher costs for raw materials and logistics.
