China's largest integrated oil refinery and petrochem project to come onstream in Q3-08

China's largest integrated oil refinery and petrochemical projects at Dushanzi, including 10 mln ton crude oil refineries and 1 mln tons of ethylene will come onstream in a couple of months. When supply begins from Dushanzi, it will significantly increase market supply; particularly to lower reaches of the Northwest region. China National Petroleum Corporation started the construction of expansion projects in Dushanzi petrochemical with total investment of up to nearly 30 billion Yuan in August 2005. Dushanzi petrochemical project is one of the important expansion projects of CNPC, expansion of which includes two projects of 10 mln tpa of refinery and 1.2 mln tpa of ethylene, including 20 sets of oil refining equipment and 12 sets of chemical plants.
