After a three month shutdown, Haldia Petrochemical Ltd. (HPL) has successfully completed its Rs 1,230 crore Supermax expansion project. The expansion is estimated to raise capacity from 5,20,000 tpa to about 6,70,000 tpa. The expansion project that was initiated about three months ago, has been behind schedule by over two years. This has almost doubled project cost from Rs 675 crore.
Pure product from the Naphtha Cracker Unit (NCU) has been obtained on February 10 along with pure butadiene and benzene.
