India informs S. Korea of anti-dumping case against PP

South Korea’s Embassy is reported to have been informed of an investigation to be conducted against PP imports originating from South Korea, Taiwan and the US, as per Chemorbis. The source which obtained a copy of a letter from India’s Department of Commerce to the Embassy of the Republic of Korea noted that “a fully documented application from the Indian Industry manufacturing polypropylene” has been received. This application alleges that PP has been dumped from South Korea and has caused “injury” to the Indian Domestic Industry. According to the letter, India’s Designated Authority proposes to initiate an investigation into the alleged dumping and has given its initial notice in terms of Rule 5 of the WTO Agreement on Anti-dumping. Details of the time period to be covered were not included in the letter.
