Production of on-spec polypropylene has commenced at Lotte Daesan's new plant, that was supplied with propylene for the first time on July 15. Commercial operations at the new 300,000 tpa plant at Daesan are expected to start in early September. With this addition, the company's total PP capacity has gone up to 550,000 tpa.
Propylene will be sourced from Lotte's 500,000 tpa steam cracker, as well as via a long term tolling agreement to draw 80,000 tpa from Samsung Total Petrochemicals Co from September.
