New LDPE plant in Slovak Republic selects LyondellBasell's Lupotech T technology

Slovnaft Petrochemicals, a subsidiary of the MOL Group, has selected LyondellBasell's Lupotech T technology for its new 220,000 tpa low density polyethylene (LDPE) plant planned to be built in Bratislava, Slovak Republic which is expected to start operations in 2012. As per a senior executive with MOL Petrochemicals, the company selected Lupotech T LDPE technology as their petrochemical assets call for a best-in-class operating performance, a superior product portfolio and optimum site integration. The newly licensed technology for Bratislava-based LDPE plant becomes the fourth polyolefins process technology licensed by LyondellBasell to the MOL Group. Lupotech T has underlined itself as a market leader in high pressure LDPE technology by licensing more than 7 mln tons of capacity till date. Key features of Lupotech T technology include low manufacturing and investment costs, fast start up and grade changes, and a high on-stream factor which make it today's technology of choice for the world scale production of LDPE and EVA copolymers.
