US based ExxonMobil is speculated to be withdrawing from a US$6 bln joint venture petrochemicals project with Qatar Petroleum (QP). Once this decision has been reached by Exxon, QP hopes to fill in the gap by participation from France’s Total and the UK/Dutch Shell Group who already have agreements in place to develop new petrochemicals schemes with QP.
