Russia to increase ethylene capacity to 13 mln ton from the current 2.3 mln tons

Russia is expected to build upto 10 complexes to produce ethylene, each with a 1 mln tpa capacity by 2030. The country is hoping to increase capacity to 13 mln tons, up from the current 2.3 mln tons, to solve current shortage problems, as per plastics news. The project will take place as part of the state program ‘The development of Russian gas and petrochemicals industry by 2030’. The volume of investments in the project has not yet been announced.
