Sinopec's Maoming city ethylene plant has returned to full production after being shut for over two weeks. The shutdown was caused by a fire that occurred at the plant on June 3 due to a lightning strike.
One 360,000 ton capacity ethylene facility resumed production on June 6 after safety checks and the other 640,000 ton capacity line restarted production on June 18.
