Malaysia's largest integrated producer of olefins and polyolefins, Titan Chemicals Corp Bhd has opened a new subsidiary in Dubai to extend its business development activities in the Gulf region. According to a senior executive, the company will investigate supply chain and opportunities in the Middle East region which is expected to be a core of petrochem industry in the near future.
The decision of the company comes after huge investments in the region set to give massive boost to the Middle East petrochemical capacity which will shortly move into an operational phases. Titan already has marketing subsidiaries in Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Hong Kong and representative offices in major cities in China. The company recorded a dominant 38% share in the Malaysian polyolefins sales volume in 2007 and noted a 30% share in the Indonesian combined LLDPE and HDPE markets.
