Aither Chemicals gets funding for plant to convert ethane from Marcellus Shale to ethylene

Aither Chemicals has received funding to construct and operate a plant to convert ethane from the Marcellus Shale to ethylene. Pittsburgh-based Renewable Manufacturing Gateway has agreed to finance the project proposed at an outlay of US$500 mln. Aither Chemicals is a spin-off of Mid-Atlantic Technology, Research and Innovation Center (MATRIC). The proposed project would be funded with a combination of financing, equity and debt. Potential locations for the plant include New Martinsville and Institute. Aither Chemicals is conducting studies of both sites.
