An Optical Bonding Process for thermoplastics

28-Apr-16
Densitron Technologies Ltd., a global industrial display and embedded solutions provider, is expanding its optical bonding capability from glass to polycarbonate touchscreens and cover lens. By matching the thermal expansion coefficient of polycarbonate cover lens within the bonding materials, an optical bond that meets industrial requirements is now available. "Where glass cover lenses are not appropriate, food processing plants as an example, now can consider Densitron's thermoplastics bonding capabilities" Chris Goodhall, Sales Director of Densitron UK. Densitron's Solisbond® is also featured in several medical and industrial devices in the US. Recently, Densitron developed a mechanically backward compatible solution for a medical device manufacturer to replace an obsolete AM-OLED touch assembly. The new TFT touch solution and Solisbond® met all critical viewing angle and drop test requirements of the project while simplifying logistics. "Instead of working with three different suppliers previously for the display, touchpanel and bonding, Densitron engineered a one-stop-solution for the client with an improved mechanical design which helped lower operating costs of our client." Bill Spinney, Senior Regional Manager, Densitron America.
