As regional trends firm, most producers have chosen to increase PVC offers in Southeast Asia. As per Chemorbis, a Vietnamese producer has increased domestic offers for March by twenty dollars at US$1080-1090/ton FD Vietnam, 30 days deferred payment basis. A producer in Indonesia also lifted local offers for March by the same amount to US$1100-1120/ton FD Indonesia, cash. Initial March offers in Malaysia and the Philippines were increased by PHP1000/ton (US$22/ton) and MYR50-100/ton (US$14-29/ton).
Higher prices in the Chinese market and stronger VCM feedstock costs, coupled with firm local demand have supported the price increases. The construction sector in the region is said to be doing well as the month begins, with a number of regional governments reportedly engaging in some pre-election infrastructure spending.
