Japan's Asahi Kasei Corp has shut its 504,000 tpa Mizushima naphtha cracker permanently on Friday as scheduled, as part of the industry's move to tighten supplies amid declining demand for domestic petrochemical, as per Reuters. Asahi Kasei and Mitsubishi Chemical Holdings Corp have decided to integrate their naphtha-cracking operations from April 2016 by operating the latter's 570,000 tpa Mizushima cracker jointly and scrapping the former's cracker.
