China's robust growth has been triggered by growing demand from various sectors. In order to meet the country's advanced polyolefins needs, as well as to address the demands of the local automotive, appliance and industrial markets, Basell is expanding in China.
Basell has inaugurated its new polypropylene (PP) compounding plant at the Suzhou Industrial Park, near Shanghai. The state-of-the art plant will be expanded in several phases to achieve the name plate capacity of 60,000 tons. The plant produces advanced polyolefins marketed under the Hostacom and Hifax trademarks. Combining the cost-competitiveness of polyolefins with the performance of engineering resins, Basell's Hostacom and Hifax compounded resins enable customers to produce value-added applications with exceptional properties such as high impact strength, excellent scratch resistance, superior paint adhesion and low thermal expansion. In addition, Basell's Hostacom and Hifax compounded resins can be easily tailored to meet a variety of demanding application needs, have outstanding processability and can be recycled.
Basell's global PP compounding business network is now spread in 15 countries including China, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand, UK and USA.
