Bayer MaterialScience and Teijin have signed an agreement to supply each other with specific grades of polycarbonate from their plants, which are under construction at Shanghai and Jiaxing respectively. Teijin will commence manufacture of its Panlite material next April and Bayer in 2006. As per an initial agreement, the companies will supply each other with specific types of polycarbonate for specific applications. However, in future, this range can be expanded depending on the degree of its progress.
The agreement will enable each producer to improve efficiency, boost productivity and increase availability in the global market.
