By the end of 2009, Bayer plans to invest 100 mln Euros in its Brazilian units at, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo.
The unit in Rio de Janeiro that commenced production in the nineteen fifties, is a 45,000 tons plant producing raw materials for polyurethane and agrochemicals, among other products. The investment outlay aims to modernize and update technology as well as improve the unit´s infrastructure.
