Borouge to increase polyolefin production to 620,000 tons in 2008

15-Jan-07
As part of its plan to triple its output, Abu Dhabi-based petrochemical maker Borouge- a JV between Denmark-based petrochemical group Borealis and Abu Dhabi National Oil Co. (ADNOC), will increase production of polyolefins to 620,000 tons in 2008. As of last year, Borouge produced 574,000 tpa of polyolefins, as against 518,000 tons in 2005. This years production is expected to be same as 2006, as the plant will see a dip in production, on account some regular maintenance work. By 2010, Borouge plans to triple its production of polyolefins to 2 million tpa at its Ruwais plant in Abu Dhabi emirate in the UAE.
