BP’s aromatics recovery unit to resume production at Texas

15-Oct-09
BP PLC’s aromatics recovery unit will resume production at the A side of its Texas City oil refinery. Emissions resulting from the startup could last until Saturday. All venting of off-gases will be vented to a fuel gas system or to a distillate desulphurization unit and safety flare, if the fuel gas system is not available. It is unclear when the unit - used to capture aromatic hydrocarbons primarily from naphtha cuts, was taken out of service.
