Texas based leading global chemical company Celanese Corporation has acquired the long-fiber reinforced thermoplastics (LFT) business of FACT GmbH (Future Advanced Composites Technology) of Kaiserslautern, Germany, a business unit of The Ravago Group. FACT is a leading producer of LFT used in injection moulding, extrusion, compression moulding and blow moulding applications. Completion of the change of ownership will occur on December 31, 2009. Financial details of the transactions have not been disclosed. This acquisition will benefit Ticona Engineering Polymers which is a part of Celanese's advanced engineered materials business segment. This acquisition intends to serve high expectations in the automotive industry and in general industrial applications.Celanese products are manufactured in North America, Europe and Asia. Net sales totaled $6.8 billion in 2008, with approximately 65% generated outside of North America.
