Chemical production in Azerbaijan was 78% lower at the end of April 2009 as compared with end-April 2008. Output between January and April 2009 was down by AZN 18.2 mln (around EUR 16 mln). Azerbaijan is currently under the strain of a global recession despite its status as an oil-producing state.
