China National Petroleum Corp (CNPC) has commenced operation at Dushanzi petrochemical complex. The complex has a refinery with an annual processing capacity of 10 mln tons and an ethylene facility capable of producing 1 mln tpa. The complex will primarily process high sulfur crude oil from Kazakhstan that China imports through the Sino-Kazakhstan Pipeline. PetroChina Dushanzi Petrochemical Company's (Dushanzi Petrochemical) is part of the Sino-Kazakhstan energy co-operation strategy and is composed of 10 sets of oil refining facilities and 11 sets of petrochemical facilities, including a 10 miln tpa distillation unit, a 2mtpa hydrocracking unit, a 1mtpa ethylene plant, a 900,000 tpa polyethylene plant and a 550,000 tpa polypropylene plant, which will mainly process high sulfur oil imported from Kazakhstan.
