The European Commission has set a deadline date of Feb 4 for its inquiry into Basell Polyethylene SAS' proposed acquisition for sole control over French petrochemical group Compagnie de Distribution des Hydrocarbures SAS.
Compagnie de Distribution des Hydrocarbures owns the Berre L'Etang refinery in France, as well as other infrastructure and assets. Basell plans to also acquire infrastructure associated with the refinery, including interests in pipelines and terminals and supply and distribution contracts.
