Degussa plans carbon black capacity expansion in Brazil

26-Feb-05
The dynamic growth of carbon black market coupled with favorable customer response has prompted Degussa to double its present capacity in Brazil. The Management Board of Degussa has approved plans to increase the capacity of its carbon black plant in Paulinia, Brazil, to 100,000 tpa. With the approval of investment, construction is expected to start immediately. An application for the necessary operating license has been filed with the environmental authorities. Degussa entered the Brazilian carbon black market 2 years ago in Paulinia when it set up a completely new production plant which uses the latest technology to assure both the efficiency of the processes involved and world-class standards in environmental protection. Degussa is one of the world's leading carbon black producers, with 18 production plants worldwide.
