Following price hikes implemented earlier this week triggered by rising crude oil futures, further increases were reported inside China from domestic producers, as per Chemorbis. In the south, Sinopec raised LDPE film by CNY550-700/ton (US$81-103/ton) and LLDPE by CNY200/ton (US$29/ton). LDPE film is at CNY13450-13500/ton (US$1678-1685/ton without VAT) and LLDPE c4 film is at CNY11600-11700/ton (US$1448-1460/ton without VAT) ex-warehouse Guangzhou, China, cash inc VAT. HDPE film is steady at CNY11000/ton (US$1373/ton without VAT) with the same terms. Rising LLDPE futures prices have also contributed to this hike. Markets expect to see limited supplies in January due to a shutdown at Maoming.
A source at CNPC said today that they made further increases yesterday in the north of China on LLDPE film and HDPE yarn, raising prices by CNY100-200/ton (US$15-29/ton). Their new LLDPE c4 film price is at CNY11700/ton (US$1460/ton without VAT) and HDPE yarn is at CNY11000/ton (US$1373/ton without VAT) based on ex-warehouse Beijing, China, cash inc VAT. The company’s LDPE film price is at CNY13000-13300/ton (US$1622-1660/ton without VAT), while HDPE film is at CNY10550/ton (US$1316/ton without VAT) with the same terms.
