Dow Chemical has begun the restart of light hydrocarbons unit No 8 in Freeport, Texas, the company said in a regulatory filing, as per Platts. The company expects the process to last until Friday. The process started last Friday with the restart of refrigeration compressors in a process expected to last three days.
A planned turnaround commenced on December 1. Dow began a restart on December 10, but the unit had to be shut down on December 14 after a trip of a cracked gas compressor.
