DSM Engineering Plastics to facility at Indiana

DSM Engineering Plastics will renovate and equip its 175,000 square foot facility at Evansville, Indiana over the next five years. With the upgrades, the company has added additional weekend production shifts and now sustains around-the-clock operations in Evansville. DSM’s increased production is allowing it to provide more efficient and reliable production of its high performance engineering thermoplastics, which are used in products including air intake manifolds, mobile connectors, food packaging and office chairs. “Indiana is a manufacturing powerhouse. In fact, our state’s manufacturing sector is growing at a rate that ranks second in the nation,” said Victor Smith, Indiana Secretary of Commerce. “There’s a higher concentration of manufacturing jobs in Indiana than any state in the nation, and that’s driving international companies like DSM, which could locate these new jobs anywhere, to choose Indiana for job creation.” “We have continued to successfully grow our manufacturing operations in Indiana over the past 25 years,” said Randy McGowan, vice president of operations for DSM Engineering Plastics Americas. “Evansville is rich in resources with expertise in custom thermoplastics. This has allowed us to expand our operations quickly and to respond to changes in the marketplace. "
