Royal DSM N.V., the Dutch global Life Sciences and Materials Sciences company has signed an agreement to sell its Solutech business to Lydall, Inc., the US-based specialty engineered products manufacturer. The business, which primarily consists of two production facilities in the Netherlands, contributed approximately EUR 3 mln to DSM's total net sales in 2007. Lydall has been a development partner for Solutech since 2007 and as part of the agreement DSM will continue to cooperate with Lydall.
DSM’s Solutech business is involved in manufacturing of Solupor® specialty microporous membranes for air and liquid filtration. These membranes are suitable for a range of applications, including filtration and separation, supercapacitors, Li-ion batteries, textiles and polymer fuel cells.
