Ethylene production in Japan fell 4.1% yoy in September, due to a larger number of plants being closed for maintenance. Ethylene output for Sep 2011 was 534,500 ton vs 557,300 tons in Sep 2010, and vs 612,100 tons in August 2011, as per the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
Japan had two maintenance related shutdowns in September 2011 vs one shutdown in Sep 2010 as well as August 2011.
