The European Union has threatened to impose tariffs on PET imports from Pakistan, Iran and the UAE. These tariffs could be in retaliation for supposed anti-competitive subsidies and below-cost selling. The EU investigation will seek to determine if unfair practices have damaged Europe’s PET industry. EU has already imposed anti-dumping tariffs against PET from China, India, Taiwan and others.
