08-Dec-08
RPC Group Plc, Europe's leading supplier of rigid plastic packaging, has announced to close down its Mozzate-based factory in Northern Italy by June 2009. The company has also initiated a discussion with workforce representatives at Halfweg and Ravenstein in the Netherlands, and Aš in the Czech Republic of a possible shut down. These decisions are part of company's restructuring programme titled "RPC 2010" post-approval its strategic review. The programme calls for a close down or a sell out of a minimum of 8 plants to improve manufacturing footprint and exiting a number of non-core market segments. The plan aims to reach at least an average of 15% return on capital employed (ROCE) across the cycle.
